Drought Watch
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a statewide drought watch.
While it is not required, DEP encourages residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve water by reducing their nonessential water use.
There are a few simple ways to use less water at home:
- Run your dishwasher and washing machine less frequently and only with full loads.
- Take shorter showers. Don't let the faucet run while you brush your teeth.
- Only water your lawn if necessary and avoid watering on windy and hot days.
- Skip the car wash. If you have to wash your car, go through a drive-through car wash where the water is recycled.
