PUBLIC NOTICE - RESIDENTIAL OFF-STREET PARKING ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday December 14, 2023 in Town Hall, Borough Municipal Building, 53 West South Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for purposes of receiving public comment on the Ordinance set forth below. Upon conclusion of the hearing, Council will consider and possibly vote upon enactment of the Ordinance at the hearing or as part of its regularly scheduled meeting commencing at 7:00 p.m. December 14, 2023. An Ordinance Amending The Code Of The Borough Of Carlisle, Chapter 255, By Reducing Minimum Parking Requirements For Dwellings. It Is Hereby Enacted And Ordained by the Borough Council of the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
Section 1: Section 255-204 [Number of required spaces for dwellings], Paragraph A, of Article XXV [Off-Street Parking and Loading] of Chapter 255 [Zoning] of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle is hereby amended to provide in its entirety as follows: A. Unless fewer minimum parking spaces are permitted by the applicable zoning district, the current parking minimum is one (1) off-street parking space per dwelling unit with one-bedroom or less and two (2) off-street parking spaces per dwelling unit with two or more bedrooms. Section 2: The provisions of this Ordinance shall be severable. If any of its provisions shall be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or otherwise invalid, that decision shall not affect the remaining provisions of this Ordinance or any other provision, section, article or chapter of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle. Section 3: This Ordinance shall become effective upon enactment. Enacted And Ordained this 14th day of December, 2023.

It Is Hereby Enacted And Ordained by the Borough Council of the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, as follows: Section 1: The parcels of land identified below, consisting of approximately 25 acres, are hereby removed from the current zoning districts specified below and are rezoned, made part of and included within the UM Urban Mixed Use District to the extent the parcel or part of the parcel is located within the Borough of Carlisle:

The parcels identified above and their current zoning designations are depicted on the Map attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein as Exhibit A. The parcels above as
rezoned to UM Urban Mixed Use zoning are depicted on the Map attached hereto and
incorporated by reference herein as Exhibit B. Section 2: It is hereby directed that the Zoning Map of the Borough of Carlisle be changed as required by Section 255-7.A of Chapter 255 of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle to note the rezoning of the parcels described in Section 1, above, of this Ordinance. Section 3: The provisions of this Ordinance shall be severable.
